Do I need insurance?
Yes, Insurance is required and can be obtained from here >Drones and model aircraft below 20kg
If you fly a drone or model aircraft below 20kg for recreation, sport, or as a hobby, you can choose whether or not to have insurance.
If you fly it for any other reason, you must have third party insurance.
Drones and model aircraft 20kg and above
If your drone or model aircraft is 20kg or more, you must always have third party insurance, no matter what you use it for.
How do I receive the drone?
You can collect from our premises or if you’re local we can arrange delivery.Do you provide a pilot?
No, we are currently unable to provide pilots but this is something that we’re looking into as an option.Who uses the drones ?
Lots of industries use drones for all sorts of filming, for example, Estate Agents, Film makers, Surveyors, Roofers and Hobbyists etc.Do you also sell drones?
Yes, on the occasion we have drones for sale. When we have drones available they will be listed on the site.
Do you need any qualificatons?
You do not need to register if you only fly or use the following types of drone or model aircraft:
- toys below 250g or in C0 class
- those in C0 class with no camera, whether they are a toy or not
- those below 250g with no camera and no class mark, whether they’re a toy or not
Outside of these parameters you’ll need to register.
What are the laws and rules regarding drones?
Before flying a drone it’s recommended that you familiarise yourself with the Drone Code.
Can I fly a Drone in public places ?
It is legal to fly your drone in public places such as the beach or parks but you will have to follow guidlines. If the Drone is fitted with a camera, it’s illegal to fly within 50m of people, vehicles, buildings or structures.
Can I fly a Drone at night ?
Yes you can, although the drone should be properly let to avoid collisions. The anti-collision lights should be able to be seen for three miles and should have a sufficient flash rate.
